Hotelga 2025: the second day ended, with federalism as the main axis

Buenos Aires, August 2025 – The hotel and gastronomy exhibition is an ideal space for Argentine provinces to make their potential known. The second day had an agenda full of activities and conferences in which representatives from different provinces participated, and was attended by the governor of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir. In addition, sustainability took center stage with the Grand Final of the Sustainable Hospitality Contest.

For the second consecutive day, Hotelga 2025 represented a meeting point between businessmen and professionals from the North to the South of Argentina. The event organized by FEHGRA, AHT and Messe Frankfurt Argentina had an agenda full of activities that showed the enormous potential of the HORECA sector throughout the country.

 

An example of this was the panel "Incentive Program for the Sector", where nine provinces – Jujuy, Tucumán, Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, Mendoza, San Luis, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Corrientes – presented their proposals and benefits to promote the establishment of hotel and gastronomic projects in their territories. In the first block, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, Misiones and Tucumán highlighted benefits ranging from credit lines with subsidized rates and tax exemptions for up to 20 years, to the offer of land in strategic places such as the Iryapú Jungle in Iguazú or the Sacred City of Quilmes.

In the second part, San Luis, Jujuy, Chubut and Tierra del Fuego presented promotion regimes that include total tax exemptions, subsidies equivalent to social plans, private initiative regimes and technical assistance, along with the transfer of public properties in key tourist destinations. In all cases, the provincial governments agreed to point to tourism as an engine of employment and local economic development.

Federalism was not only displayed in the auditoriums of the La Rural Fairgrounds in Buenos Aires, but also in its corridors. Stands such as the Norte Grande and the province of Córdoba, and the City of Buenos Aires reflected the talent and variety of offers that exist in the national territory.

Another of the outstanding activities was the TASTE CULINARY SUMMIT 2025. Organised by AHRCC, it brought together some of the greatest references in cuisine with experts from different fields, with the aim of exploring ways of collaborating in hospitality and projecting the future of the activity. representatives of restaurants from Mendoza, Tierra del Fuego and other parts of Argentina shared their talent and experience with visitors to the event.

One of the most inspiring moments of the day took place during this activity, in the dissertation of Fernando Polack. There, the owner of Alamesa Restó shared the day-to-day life of his restaurant, which was born with the aim of integrating young neurodivergents into the labor market: "Our project was not to develop a common restaurant, but one that speaks the language of people with neurodivergence."

For its part, the Grand Final of the Sustainable Hotel Contest, organized by Hoteles Más Verdes with the support of AHT, AIHPY (Hotel Industrial Association of Paraguay), AHRU (Association of Hotels and Restaurants of Uruguay) and Hoteliers of Chile, exceeded all expectations. There, the tourist establishments and innovative ideas that best integrate the principles of sustainability in the hotel value chain of the region were recognized. In the words of the Coordinator of the Greener Hotels program, Daniela Finocchiaro, "Tourism is an encounter and that encounter has to be sustainable."

In the category of Actions that Create History, the winner was the project "Thank you, my red land", from the Loi Suites Iguazú hotel, in Puerto Iguazú; while in the Innovative Ideas category,  first place was won by the initiative "Root Cuisine as an engine of transformation in sustainable hotels", presented by Nanis Mitjans, from the American University.  of Paraguay.

Another of the outstanding activities was the presentation on "Argentine Hospitality in Numbers: Trends, Profitability and Regional Comparisons" at Hotelga Summit 2025, where Patricia Boo, regional director of STR, presented a detailed overview of hotel performance in Argentina.

Tomorrow, the closing day will feature the Grand Prize of the Federal Chefs Tournament, organized by FEHGRA, where the winning team of professional chefs will be defined among the 22 chefs who participated from all over Argentina sharing their talent and highlighting the value of regional gastronomy. In addition, Santiago Bilinkis' keynote lecture  on artificial intelligence  will take place.
